Start with a surface, buyer, and method
Choose a narrow offer: residential flatwork, storefronts, multifamily exteriors, parking structures, or commercial façades. Pressure washing uses force on suitable surfaces. Soft washing uses lower pressure and the right chemistry for delicate surfaces. Testing, dwell time, rinse control, and manufacturer guidance beat one universal setting.
Form the business, separate its money, confirm licenses, and insure your work, people, vehicles, and equipment. Sell a defined result and exclusions.

Build the ground system before the drone system
A commercial setup still needs a vehicle or trailer, water and pumping plan, hoses, nozzles, chemistry, surface protection, protective equipment, maintenance, and runoff plan. A drone changes how solution reaches some elevated surfaces. It does not replace the ground rig or crew.
Wash-water handling depends on local, state, site, and property rules. EPA guidance offers BMP context: keep untreated wash water and contaminants out of storm systems where required. Confirm each job's rule.

Compare the same building, scope, and quality
Traditional direct cost includes labor, access rental and delivery, setup, fall protection, water, chemistry, recovery, transport, insurance, and rework. Drone direct cost includes pilot and ground-crew labor, survey and airspace work, exclusion-zone setup, equipment or subscription allocation, ground-system costs, insurance, and rework.
On suitable façades, a drone can reduce worker-at-height and access-equipment cost for the drone-performed portion. It is not always cheaper. A manufacturer reported a $13,500 average across 189 commercial jobs in Q3 2025. That is published job value, not Operator earnings, profit, or payback.

Add aviation compliance and commercial support
Part 107 is not blanket authority. Aircraft configuration, weight, airspace, people, and mission determine the path. At or above 55 pounds may require Section 44807 or another certification path. Dispensing requires separate review, and Part 137 applies only when the substance and use meet its definition.
SkyPSI Operator starts at $3k per month for the B2, training, and support, plus $10,000 due at signing that covers the first month, the last month, and a refundable security deposit. The operator supplies the ground operation and at least two people per job. On the full commercial pathway, one real commercial job is guaranteed and paid separately after qualification.
