NIOSH identifies work at heights as one area where robots can do dangerous work instead of people. BLS reported that 389 of 1,034 private-sector construction deaths in 2024 involved falls, slips, or trips, and 95.9% of those were falls to a lower level.
That construction statistic is context, not a SkyPSI incident rate. Robotic cleaning also creates flight, water, electrical, pedestrian, and site-control hazards. The value is reduced exposure with a trained crew and a property-specific operating plan, not an unattended or risk-free job.

On suitable surfaces, robots can handle part of the access-intensive cleaning work. People assess the building, select the method and chemistry, protect the site, operate the equipment, inspect the finish, complete hands-on detailing where needed, and document the result.
