Apellix B2 cleaning windows on a commercial building

Hardware Comparison

Lucid Sherpa vs. Apellix B2.

The B2 wins the constraints that govern usable work: approximately 70% more flight time, 30% more working height, a lighter wash configuration, included window capability, and AirTrace automated cleaning. The Sherpa carries the higher peak pressure ceiling.

The sections below explain weight, hose load, working height, and automation.

Flight Time and Height

The B2 stays in the work longer and reaches farther.

The flight-time penalty is the full interruption: leave the work face, descend, land, change batteries, check, relaunch, climb, and find the restart point. A 32-minute maximum flight reduces how often that fixed cost repeats. A 195-foot maximum height keeps more elevations inside the drone scope from one setup.

Pressure

Lucid wins the peak-pressure number.

The Sherpa tops out at 4,500 PSI versus 4,000 PSI at the ground pump for the B2. The ground rig creates pressure and flow. The drone positions the hose and nozzle while accepting the reaction force. Glass, EIFS, siding, coatings, sealants, and decorative masonry often require far less pressure, and some prohibit high-pressure washing.

Weight and Windows

More margin for the working load.

In the closest battery-equipped wash configurations, the B2 is approximately 19% lighter. Windows are a standard B2 application with no separate flight payload. The Sherpa window capability is an optional payload with an onboard tank and mixer.

Automation

AirTrace cleans a traced area.

With AirTrace, the pilot traces a box on the controller and the B2 cleans the selected area while it maintains distance. Active pilot supervision remains required. The Sherpa offers automatic takeoff, hold, and landing, and its manual keeps automated mission modes out of cleaning operations.

SkyPSI's Position

We back the Apellix B2.

Flight time, working height, and operating weight control the job. They set interruptions, addressable scope, and how much working load the aircraft can support. On those constraints, the hardware record favors the B2.

The Sherpa's higher peak pressure is a genuine advantage. SkyPSI picks the lowest validated pressure, compatible chemistry, flow, nozzle, standoff, and delivery plan that produce the required finish.
