Insurance
You Carry the Insurance. We Tell You What It Has to Cover.
You run an independent business, so you carry your own insurance. SkyPSI states the coverage you need in writing before you fly, and it has to stay current for as long as you work SkyPSI jobs. We do not sell or broker insurance, and we do not publish limits or premiums.

IN WRITING
How the requirements reach you
SkyPSI gives you the exact coverage requirements during qualification, before you fly.
[01]
Independent business, independent coverage
You own the company, the crew, the vehicle, the ground rig, and the customers you go get. Insurance follows the business carrying the risk, and that business is yours.
SkyPSI places the aircraft package and runs the training. It does not supply your ground rig, vehicle, water system, chemicals, field labor, permits, or your policy. Budget coverage the way you budget fuel: a real line item, before the first job.
[02]
A pilot certificate is not insurance
Part 107 says you are qualified to fly. It says nothing about who pays when glass cracks, water reaches somewhere it should not, or somebody on the crew gets hurt.
Commercial property customers usually want a certificate of insurance before anyone sets foot on site. Having that paperwork ready is part of being able to bid the work at all.
Evidence [3]
[03]
The coverage an exterior cleaning business generally carries
Every state, customer, and job is different, so treat this as the conversation to have with a broker:
- General liability for property damage and injury arising from the work.
- Commercial auto for the truck, trailer, and everything you tow to the site.
- Workers' compensation or its equivalent for the people on the crew.
- Coverage for the aircraft and its operation, which a general liability policy may exclude.
- Coverage for the equipment itself, on the ground and in transit.
The Small Business Administration is a reasonable starting point for how business coverage and local rules work. Then use a commercial broker who has written exterior cleaning and aircraft risk.
[04]
Coverage has to stay current, not just exist once
A policy that lapses, a limit that drops below what the job requires, or expired paperwork stops the work until it is fixed. Track your renewal dates and tell SkyPSI before anything about your coverage changes.
A specific property can raise the bar for that job. The higher requirement has to be satisfied before you accept the work, not on the morning of the clean.
[05]
What SkyPSI does and does not do
SkyPSI tells you exactly what coverage you need, then verifies it is current before you work a SkyPSI job. That is the whole of it. It does not recommend a carrier or publish limits here.
The number that matters is attached to your business, your state, and the property you are standing on. Bring your broker in early and this is a paperwork step instead of a delay.
